Former CD Projekt Red Developers Establish New Game Studio, Dark Passenger
Veterans from CD Projekt Red have unveiled the launch of Dark Passenger, a new game development studio based in Poland. According to a report by Eurogamer, the studio was co-founded by Jakub Ben, previously an assistant director and cinematic artist at CD Projekt Red and more recently the creative director and co-founder of RealTime Warriors, and Marcin Michalski, formerly a senior environment artist at CD Projekt Red. Dark Passenger's inaugural project is an online multiplayer game built with Unreal Engine 5 and set in feudal Japan, with planned releases on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, although no release timeline has been announced. The studio aims to craft engaging online experiences that balance cooperation and competition, with a focus on dynamic player interactions and unexpected events. By leveraging advanced procedural techniques, the studio strives to make each gameplay experience unique, requiring players to adapt their strategies and approaches to achieve their goals.
