Nintendo Announces End of Switch Game Voucher Program

The Nintendo Switch Game Voucher service is being phased out. As of January 30, 2026, at 11:59pm, it will no longer be possible to buy new vouchers. These vouchers, a benefit of Nintendo Switch Online membership, allowed subscribers to purchase two vouchers that could be redeemed for select eShop games at a discounted price. Although Nintendo has not provided a reason for discontinuing the program, the company expressed gratitude to participants and reminded them that unused vouchers are valid for 12 months after purchase. Consequently, vouchers bought on January 30, 2026, will remain valid until January 30, 2027. It has been confirmed that vouchers will not be compatible with Switch 2 games, but Nintendo will continue to add Switch titles to the voucher catalog throughout 2026. This announcement follows recent discussions about the Switch 2's pricing, supply and demand, and issues related to Game-Key Cards.
