UK Game Sales Rise in October, Led by Call of Duty and Dragon Ball
The UK video game market saw a 3.2% increase in sales during October, with 2.9 million games sold, according to data from GSD. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 led the charge, despite launch sales being 11% lower than the previous year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. However, when focusing on PlayStation sales, where the game is not available on Game Pass, premium sales rose 24% year-over-year. The game's sales were largely driven by PlayStation platforms, accounting for almost 75% of total sales. EA Sports FC 25 came in second, with sales 14% lower than the previous year's version. Dragon Ball: Sparkling! Zero and Undisputed also saw significant success, with sales up 80% and a strong launch respectively. Other new releases, such as Silent Hill 2 and Super Mario Party Jamboree, also made the top 10. In terms of hardware, console sales rose 14% month-on-month but were down 18% year-over-year, with PS5 and Switch sales seeing a 27% and 13% increase respectively. Accessories sales were also down, with PlayStation controllers dominating the top two spots.
