Disney Partners with Maliyo Games to Launch Iwájú Tie-In Game

Maliyo Games, a Nigeria-based game development studio, has collaborated with Disney to create a mobile game based on the upcoming animated series Iwájú. The game, titled Disney Iwájú: Rising Chef, is set to launch on the same day as the series, February 28th. According to Maliyo Games CEO Hugo Obi, this partnership presents a unique opportunity for the studio to build an Africa-focused gaming IP with one of the world's biggest brands. Obi expressed his excitement about designing games that showcase African characters, stories, and culture to a global audience. The game is a cooking title that incorporates local Nigerian delicacies and ingredients, offering players a distinctive gaming experience. This collaboration marks Disney's first time working with an African studio, and Maliyo Games is eager to put Africa on the global gaming map as a source of high-quality talent and production.
