Diablo 4 Overtakes Zelda as UK Boxed Chart Leader
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's four-week reign at the top of the UK Boxed Charts has come to an end. Its sales declined by 36% from the previous week, marking the longest period a game in the series has held the number one spot. Diablo 4, developed by Activision Blizzard, has taken over as the new number one. Although its boxed retail sales were not exceptionally high, the majority of its sales are expected to be through digital downloads, with the console versions being the only ones to receive a physical release. The PS5 accounted for 67% of the physical sales, followed by the Xbox Series S and X at 27%, and the PS4 at 8%. Street Fighter 6, last week's major new release, dropped to fifth place with a 48% decline in sales. Hogwarts Legacy rose to third place despite a 27% drop in sales, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe climbed to fourth with a 23% decline. FIFA 23 fell out of the top five to sixth place, experiencing a 50% decrease in sales, coinciding with the end of the football season. The sales of PlayStation games, including first-party titles, saw a significant boost due to promotional activities. God of War Ragnarok jumped four places to seventh with a 67% increase in sales, Gran Turismo 7 reached ninth place with a 66% rise, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales leaped 23 spots to sixteenth with a 95% surge.
