The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Maintains Top Spot, Outselling Street Fighter 6 in the UK
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom secures its fourth consecutive number one position in the UK's boxed charts. In terms of boxed sales, it has become the third best-selling Zelda title in UK chart history, exceeding the sales of Ocarina of Time on the N64. It ranks behind Breath of the Wild from 2017 and Twilight Princess from 2006. Globally, Nintendo reported 10 million sales over a single weekend, making it the second best-selling Zelda game of all time, behind Breath of the Wild, based on data that includes digital sales. The game comfortably surpasses Street Fighter 6, which debuts at number two in the UK charts, with the latter showing limited physical sales compared to Capcom's Resident Evil series. However, the majority of Street Fighter 6's sales will come from digital channels, making its physical performance less indicative of its overall success. The game's boxed sales were predominantly on the PS5, accounting for 79%, followed by Xbox at 13%, and PS4 at 8%. When digital sales are included, Xbox's share is expected to improve. Elsewhere in the charts, FIFA 23 drops to third place with a 4% decline in sales, while Hogwarts Legacy falls to fourth despite an 11% increase in sales. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe also drops a position to fifth but sees a 10% rise in sales. The only new entry in the top 40 is Company of Heroes 3: Console Edition, which debuts at number 32. Recent releases like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and LEGO 2K Drive experience declines in sales, while Farming Simulator 23 on the Switch shows a 6% increase in unit sales during its second week, despite falling from 21 to 25 in the rankings. Lord of the Rings: Gollum has dropped out of the top 40, and the Evercade Team17 Amiga Collection 1 enters the charts at number 40.
