UK Boxed Charts See a Surge in Mario Games

The UK physical Top Ten has seen a significant jump in Mario games following the release of the Super Mario Brothers movie. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has risen to No.2 with a 9% increase in sales, marking its third consecutive week of rising sales. Super Mario Odyssey has jumped five places to No.5 with a 15% sales boost, likely due to its bundle with a special Nintendo Switch console. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe has also seen a significant rise, up seven places to No.10 with a 23% sales increase. Other Mario games, such as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and Mario Party Superstars, have also seen sales increases, with the former rising 21% to No.13 and the latter experiencing a small 3% uptick to No.20. Additionally, Mario Strikers: Battle League Football has re-entered the charts at No.30 with a 111% sales spike, and Luigi's Mansion 3 has returned to the charts at No.40 with a 7% sales rise. Outside of the Mario franchise, FIFA 23 remains at No.1 despite a 39% drop in sales, while The Resident Evil 4 remake has fallen to No.3 with a 34% sales decrease, and Hogwarts Legacy is now at No.4 with a 32% sales decline. The only new game to enter the charts is Cult of the Lamb by Devolver, debuting at No.28.
