Former EA Veterans Launch New AAA Studio, Fuse Games
A group of former Criterion leaders, who departed from Need for Speed developer in December, have reunited to form a new AAA studio called Fuse Games. The studio, led by Matt Webster, a 32-year EA veteran, will operate in Guildford and adopt a hybrid working approach. The team, currently consisting of 17 people, plans to scale up and create AAA console and PC games. Although the first game's genre is yet to be disclosed, Webster hinted that the team's expertise spans multiple genres, including racing titles and VR experiences. Fuse Games has secured funding, despite the current uncertainty in the games market, and is focused on creating an environment that fosters creativity, diversity, and inclusivity. The studio's values include a passion for games, energetic collaboration, and a commitment to making games quickly without crunch. With a strong foundation and a clear vision, Fuse Games is poised to make a significant impact in the gaming industry.
