Hogwarts Legacy Clings to Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts, Edging Out Metroid Prime Remastered

For the fourth week running, Hogwarts Legacy maintains its grip on the number one position in the UK physical retail charts, despite experiencing a 30% decline in sales. Its closest competitor, Metroid Prime Remastered, narrowly misses out on the top spot by a mere 1,000 units. Notably, Metroid Prime Remastered's physical launch, following a surprise digital release in early February, achieves the fourth highest physical sales debut in the Metroid series. The sales of this physical edition are only 45% lower than those of the original game back in 2002. As the second largest physical release of the year so far, Metroid Prime Remastered surpasses the Dead Space remake and Fire Emblem Engage. Since Nintendo does not disclose digital sales figures, the game's overall success in the UK remains uncertain, but the unorthodox launch strategy appears to be paying off. Another new entry, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Koei Tecmo, debuts at number eight, with 96% of its physical sales coming from PlayStation platforms, although overall boxed sales are low. The final new release in the physical charts is Scars Above from Prime Matter, which enters at number 22. In terms of last week's new releases, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe drops from number three to six after a 44% decline in sales, while Octopath Traveller 2 falls from number six to fourteen following a 45% sales decrease. Atomic Heart from Focus Home Interactive slips from number seven to twenty-five due to a 69% drop in sales. The rest of the top five sees FIFA 23 slide to number three despite a 6% increase in sales, God of War Ragnarok holding steady at number four with a 4% sales improvement, and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe remaining at number five with an 8% rise in sales.
