Hogwarts Legacy Retains Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts for Second Week

For the second consecutive week, Hogwarts Legacy has secured the number one position in the UK boxed charts, experiencing a 66% decline in sales. According to GfK retail data, this decrease is relatively modest for a major game in its second week. Following a highly successful launch weekend, Hogwarts Legacy has become the fastest-selling Harry Potter game, with its launch sales exceeding those of Elden Ring by 88% in the UK. It is also the fastest-selling video game since Red Dead Redemption 2, excluding Call of Duty and FIFA. The game's digital data for the second week will be released later. With upcoming PS5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions, Hogwarts Legacy is expected to remain in the charts throughout the year. Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line debuted at number 16, while Tales of Symphonia: Remastered entered at number 17. EA's new IP, Wild Hearts, ranked 26th in physical retail sales, and Wanted: Dead by 110 Industries placed 34th. FIFA 23 and God of War Ragnarok swapped positions, with sales decreasing by 13% and 33%, respectively. The performance of God of War is influenced by PS5 stock levels due to its inclusion in a hardware bundle. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe maintained its position at number 4 with an 18% increase in sales, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 rose to number 5 with a 7% decline in sales.
