FIFA 23 Overtakes God of War Ragnarok at the Top of UK Boxed Charts

In a relatively slow week for UK boxed game sales, FIFA 23 claimed the top spot. According to GfK data, FIFA 23's sales declined by 20% compared to the previous week, yet it managed to surpass God of War Ragnarok, which saw a 38% drop in sales. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 maintained its third-place position with a 15% decline in sales, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe remained at fourth place with a 22% sales drop. Nintendo Switch Sports rounded out the top five, moving up one spot despite a 26% decrease in sales. The overall boxed game sales plummeted by 23% compared to the previous week. One Piece Odyssey, the first new release of the year, debuted at number 14. A 'Clearance' sale by UK retailer GAME also influenced the charts, with Halo Wars 2 re-entering at number 28 after being discounted to under £3, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps appearing at number 34 following a price reduction to £5. Next week, Nintendo's Fire Emblem Engage is expected to challenge for the top position.
