God of War Ragnarok Reclaims the Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts with PS5 Stock Boost
God of War Ragnarok by Sony has regained its position at the top of the UK boxed charts, driven by a 32% week-on-week sales increase. This resurgence is attributed to the arrival of additional PS5 stock in UK retail stores, with the game also being featured in a PS5 hardware bundle. Following its previous week's lead, FIFA 23 has dropped to the second position, experiencing an 18% decline in sales, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has slipped to third place with a 14% decrease. Pokémon Violet has climbed to fourth place despite a 12% drop in sales, swapping positions with Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, which fell to fifth with a 32% sales decline. Notably, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe was a prominent inclusion in Switch hardware bundles during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period. The only new entry in the charts is the boxed version of Cuphead from Iam8bit, debuting at number 18. Last week's major release, The Callisto Protocol, has seen a significant drop from sixth to twelfth place due to a 69% week-on-week sales decline. Need for Speed: Unbound, which had a disappointing first week, has dropped from seventeenth to nineteenth place, albeit with a relatively modest 13% sales decrease. Just Dance 2023 has seen a notable rise, moving up three places to eleventh with a 17% improvement in sales week-on-week. Furthermore, the Mario series has experienced a broad sales increase, with six games showing week-on-week sales growth, including Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and Mario Strikers Charged. Even Luigi's Mansion 3 saw a 10% sales increase, rounding out a successful week for the Mario franchise.
