UK Gaming Market Sees Decline in November Despite Strong Performances from Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Ragnarok
The UK gaming market experienced a 7.3% decline in sales compared to November 2021, with 4.3 million games sold. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 dominated the charts, almost outselling its predecessor's lifetime sales in just four weeks. God of War Ragnarok saw a 44% increase in sales compared to its predecessor's launch. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet had the second-biggest launch for a Pokémon game in UK history. Console sales surged, with the Nintendo Switch seeing a 175% jump in sales, while the Xbox Series S and X came in second. The PS5 also saw a significant increase in sales, driven by the release of God of War Ragnarok. Accessories sales were up 9.3% year-over-year, with controllers being the top-selling items.
