Secret Mode Expands with New Sheffield Studio to Enhance Internal Game Development
Secret Mode, an independent game publisher, has launched a new internal development studio in Sheffield, UK. The studio's primary objective is to support the company's existing titles, including Escape the Backrooms and Chained Together, by creating new content, updating existing games, and porting them to additional platforms. The studio, initially consisting of three team members, aims to expand to around 20 people within the next 12 months. This move is driven by the desire to reduce the publisher's dependence on external development teams and to build a dedicated pipeline for updating content. The Sheffield studio will leverage established relationships with local universities to attract new talent and foster a dynamic and passionate team. By setting up an internal development studio, Secret Mode seeks to enhance its services, increase efficiency, and ultimately become a technical centre of excellence, supporting multiple titles and potentially creating its own IP in the future.
