FIFA 23 Reclaims Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts

FIFA 23 has regained its position at the top of the UK retail charts, seeing a 27% increase in sales from the previous week. This marks its return to the number one spot since early February, prior to the release of Hogwarts Legacy, which spent five weeks at the top. The EA Sports title's resurgence, coupled with a 55% decline in sales, has pushed the Resident Evil 4 Remake down to second place, while Hogwarts Legacy remains at third with a 5% decrease in sales. Meanwhile, the newly released EA Sports PGA Tour debuted at eighth place, despite only two days of sales. Easter and spring promotions have significantly impacted the charts, with The Last of Us: Part 2 experiencing a 999% surge in sales to reach fifth place, and Gran Turismo 7 seeing a 483% increase to re-enter at seventh. Other regular top ten titles include Mario Kart 8 DX, which rose 13% to fourth place, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which dropped 26% to sixth, and God of War Ragnarok, which increased 25% to ninth. Super Mario Odyssey rounded out the top ten, falling two places but seeing a 15% week-on-week sales increase. Notably, seven Mario titles received a sales boost due to promotions surrounding The Super Mario Bros Movie release, including New Super Mario Bros U DX, Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Mario Party Superstars, and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, which saw increases of 22%, 39%, 82%, 24%, and 32%, respectively.
