Hogwarts Legacy Sets Record as Europe's Fastest-Selling Non-FIFA Game in a Generation

In a notable trend, despite Hogwarts Legacy's massive success, European game sales plummeted by 10% in February. The title's launch outperformed Red Dead Redemption 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Within just three weeks of its release, Hogwarts Legacy became the fifth best-selling game over the past year, trailing behind FIFA 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Elden Ring. PS5 sales skyrocketed, increasing five-fold from the previous February, while Xbox Series S and X sales rose by 13%. Conversely, Switch sales declined by 28%, mirroring a similar downturn in the UK. The next highest new release, Atomic Heart, ranked ninth. The Last of Us Part 2 and The Last of Us Remastered saw significant sales boosts, with increases of 317% and 285%, respectively, following the release of the HBO TV series based on the games.
