Carry1st Secures $27 Million in Funding Round
Carry1st, a prominent mobile games publisher in Africa, has successfully raised $27 million in its latest funding round. The investment is set to fuel the company's business growth and enhance its game development capabilities. Led by Bitkraft Ventures, the funding round also saw participation from notable investors including Andreesen Horowitz, TTV Capital, Alumni Ventures, Lateral Capital, Kepple Ventures, and Konvoy. Founded in 2018 by Tinotenda Mundangepfupfu, Lucy Hoffman, and Cordel Robbin-Coker, Carry1st is headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa. In addition to its publishing operations, the company also generates revenue through Pay1st, its proprietary online payment and marketplace platform. According to Carry1st CEO Cordel Robbin-Coker, "The partnership with Bitkraft, a leading gaming VC firm, alongside the support of a16z and our existing investors, is a significant step forward in our mission to bring high-quality content to the African market."
