Massive Leak Exposes Valve's Game Assets, Including Portal and Half-Life 2

A significant leak of Valve's game assets has occurred, making its way online. According to reports from PC Gamer, this leak is the largest in the company's history, affecting several notable titles such as Half-Life 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Counter Strike: Source, among others. Fortunately, it appears that no assets from upcoming or unannounced games have been compromised. The individual responsible for the leak claimed to have been in possession of these files since 2016, as revealed in a conversation on Discord that was later shared on Twitter. Team Fortress 2 seems to have been the most affected, with a substantial 61GB file containing nearly all of the game's assets, including previously unreleased content, being shared. GamesIndustry.biz has reached out to Valve for a statement. This incident follows another recent high-profile leak, in which 90 video clips of Grand Theft Auto 6, still in development, were shared in September, affecting Rockstar.
