Giga Fun Studios Secures $2.4 Million in Seed Funding

Giga Fun Studios has successfully raised $2.4 million in its initial funding round. The company, headquartered in India, was co-founded by industry experts Krishnendu Mukherjee, Rahul Daga, and Rahul Shekhar. Mukherjee and Daga bring their experience from Zynga, where they held key roles, while Shekhar previously served as an engineering lead at m56 Studios. The newly acquired funds will be utilized to develop casual games tailored to the preferences of Indian and global gamers. The funding round was spearheaded by Lumikai and Fireside Ventures, with additional participation from Riverwalk Holdings, Kettleborough VC, and All in Capital. According to Mukherjee, the primary challenge in the casual gaming sector is the lack of cultural relevance in existing popular games, which hinders their ability to fully engage Indian players. He expressed his confidence in the potential for casual games to resonate with Indian audiences by incorporating culturally relevant themes and location-specific game mechanics, thereby driving adoption and revenue.
