CD Projekt Red Settles Cyberpunk 2077 Lawsuit for $1.85 Million
A class action lawsuit related to Cyberpunk 2077 has been resolved with a settlement of $1.85 million. The lawsuit, which was initially filed in California two years ago, claimed that CD Projekt Red had provided misleading information to investors regarding the game's performance on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. Following a similar lawsuit filed by the Rosen Law firm in January 2021, the latest settlement dictates that CD Projekt Red will pay the agreed-upon amount to the investor group without admitting to any of the allegations. This development comes after the company reported a 70% revenue increase in its Q3 financial results, totaling $54 million, largely attributed to the success of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animated series released on Netflix.
