Chiyomaru Shikura, the chairman and representative director of Mages, has announced that he will be relinquishing his position and taking on the role of executive producer. This development comes after the company reported a significant loss of $4.7 million. According to Shikura's statement on Twitter, his decision to step down is due to the expiration of his term, rather than the company's financial struggles. He expressed his desire to continue working as a creator and hinted at a new beginning, stating that he will work with Mages to release new titles in his new capacity. Mages is known for developing notable visual novel games such as Chaos;Head, Anonymous;Code, and Steins;Gate, and was acquired by Colopl in 2020 for $15 million.
