Film Adaptation of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding Announced
The 2019 game Death Stranding, created by Hideo Kojima, is set to be adapted into a feature film. According to Deadline, Kojima Productions has teamed up with Hammerstone Studios to develop and produce the movie, with Hammerstone Studios providing full financing. At present, the screenwriter and director for the film have not been announced. The founder of Hammerstone Studios, Alex Lebovici, will oversee the project's financial backing. Hideo Kojima expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "I am thrilled to be collaborating with Hammerstone Studios, and I look forward to working together to bring Death Stranding to the big screen." This announcement is part of a larger trend of video games being adapted into TV and film this year. Recently, at The Games Awards, a sequel to Death Stranding was also revealed.
