Epic to Remove Several Older Titles from Online Platforms
Epic Games has revealed plans to discontinue online services and server support for a range of older games, shifting its focus to Epic Online Services. The process began on December 14, with titles being removed from digital stores and in-game DLC purchases disabled. According to Epic, "most games will remain playable offline, although some will no longer be accessible. We regret the impact this change will have on affected players." The following titles will see their online services terminated on January 24: 1000 Tiny Claws, Dance Central 1-3, Green Day: Rock Band, Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess, Rock Band 1-3, The Beatles: Rock Band, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, Unreal Gold, Unreal II: The Awakening, Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal Tournament 2004, Unreal Tournament 3, and Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition. However, Dance Central VR and Rock Band 4 will retain their multiplayer features, and Epic has announced that online features for Unreal Tournament 3 will be reinstated at a later date.
