Keywords Expands Presence in Italy with LabCom Acquisition
Keywords has revealed its acquisition of LabCom, a Milan-based public relations and communications agency specializing in the video game industry. The acquisition terms include an initial payment of €1 million in cash, with the possibility of Keywords issuing up to 12,412 new ordinary shares as additional consideration three years after the acquisition date, subject to certain conditions being met. LabCom provides PR services to prominent gaming companies in Italy, including Riot Games, Konami, and Bethesda, among others. Founded in 2005 by Marco Giannatiempo, the agency currently employs 16 staff members, with Giannatiempo still at the helm. Giannatiempo stated: "Our goal at LabCom has always been to drive continuous growth and expand our service offerings to better support our clients, enabling them to capitalize on new opportunities for product promotion. We are thrilled about this significant agreement and believe it will enable us to achieve outstanding results in the years to come, both in Europe and beyond." In a similar move last year, Keywords acquired UK-based PR agency Indigo Pearl for £1.1 million.
