Splash Damage Takes Over Bulkhead, Developer of Battalion 1944

In a recent move, UK game developer Splash Damage has taken ownership of Bulkhead in a deal with an undisclosed value. Bulkhead, based in Derby, is renowned for its work on the World War 2 shooter Battalion 1944 and the puzzle game The Turing Test. News of the acquisition came to light through a press release about Transformers: Reactivate, an online multiplayer game the two studios are collaborating on, set to launch on PC and consoles with a closed beta in 2023. Bulkhead confirmed the acquisition on Twitter, expressing pride in being part of Splash Damage and looking forward to creating more impactful games. This development comes after Bulkhead ended its partnership with Square Enix Collective in August, citing unreleased console versions of Battalion 1944 as a factor.
