Ubisoft Makes a Comeback on Steam with Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Following a period of focus on alternative stores, Ubisoft has announced its return to the prominent PC gaming platform Steam. The company has created a Steam page for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, scheduled for release on December 6. Other Ubisoft titles, including Anno 1800 and Roller Champions, are also set to launch on Steam, although release dates have not been confirmed. This move marks a significant shift for Ubisoft, which had previously focused on its own UPlay store and partnerships with Epic Games Store. The decision to return to Steam may indicate a change in the company's approach to game distribution and revenue sharing. Ubisoft's vice president for partnership and revenue had previously cited Valve's 'unrealistic' revenue share as a reason for the company's initial departure from Steam. However, with the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Ubisoft is now embracing Steam as a key platform for its games. The company joins other major publishers, such as Electronic Arts and Activision Blizzard, in reevaluating its approach to Steam and game distribution.
