Rockstar Prohibits NFTs in Updated GTA Online Roleplay Server Guidelines
Rockstar Games has outlined the dos and don'ts for Grand Theft Auto Online players on roleplay servers. In a recent update on its support page, the company confirmed that it permits third-party roleplay servers, where players engage in immersive role-playing experiences. However, under Take-Two's enforcement policy, certain activities are strictly forbidden. These include commercial exploitation, such as selling in-game items for real money or integrating cryptocurrencies and NFTs. Additionally, players are not allowed to monetize their servers through in-game integrations or sponsorships. Rockstar and Take-Two will also crack down on misuse of intellectual property, importing external IP, creating new game content, and interfering with official online services. The company emphasized that this statement does not constitute a license or endorsement of third-party projects, and Take-Two reserves the right to object to or revoke this statement at any time. This move is part of a broader trend, with other game developers like Mojang and Epic Games also taking stances against NFTs in their respective games.
