Ex-Niantic Developers Launch Bodeville Studio
Former Niantic employees have established a new game development studio, Bodeville, with a focus on crafting immersive narrative games and indie experiences. Founded in October by Alexia 'Flex' Mandeville and Bo Boghosian, the studio is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mandeville, who previously led the design of Niantic's Peridot, brings her expertise in virtual reality projects, including Meta's Horizon Worlds. Boghosian, with over six years of experience at Niantic working on titles like Pokémon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, served as the engineering lead on Peridot. The duo has self-funded the venture and is presently developing two original narrative games, aiming for a 2023 release.
