Jagex Achieves Record-Breaking £125m Revenue in 2021

Jagex has unveiled its 2021 financial highlights, boasting a record revenue of nearly £125 million. This marks a 4% increase from the previous year and the company's seventh consecutive year of growth. The success is largely attributed to the flagship franchise RuneScape, which experienced its highest number of paid subscribers in 2021. According to Jagex CEO Phil Mansell, the company's acquisition by The Carlyle Group in early 2021 provided substantial support for their long-term expansion plans and vision for community-driven gaming. This backing, combined with the company's continued revenue growth, has enabled Jagex to make significant moves in the gaming industry, including the acquisition of Pipeworks Studios and reaching a milestone of over 300 million created accounts for the RuneScape franchise.
