Konami Resurrects Silent Hill with Ambitious New Slate

Following years of speculation, Konami has revitalized its iconic horror franchise Silent Hill, unveiling five new projects. The Japanese publisher shared initial details for each during a recent digital event, revealing multiple video games and ventures into other entertainment formats. The lineup includes a Silent Hill 2 remake, currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC by Bloober Team, in collaboration with series veterans Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka. Additionally, two spin-offs, Silent Hill: Townfall and Silent Hill F, are being developed in partnership with No Code Studios and Neobards Entertainment, respectively. Furthermore, an interactive streaming series, Silent Hill: Ascension, is in the works, allowing audiences to collectively influence the narrative. A new movie adaptation, Return to Silent Hill, is also in production, directed by Christopher Gans. Although release dates have not been announced, Konami has promised to share more information in the future. The Silent Hill series has been dormant since its last releases in 2012, with a previously planned title, Silent Hills, being cancelled in 2015.
