Rooster Teeth Responds to Unpaid Labor Allegations, Announces Programming Cuts

Following recent allegations of an unhealthy work environment, Rooster Teeth has announced a reduction in programming. The company addressed these claims in a Twitter thread, which followed an official statement and an internal email from General Manager Jordan Levin. In the email, Levin downplayed certain accusations as past issues and referred to unpaid voice-over work as a benefit. Rooster Teeth's Twitter thread apologized for past misconduct and highlighted recent changes, including the establishment of a new HR team, pay reviews, and business resource groups. Regarding unpaid work allegations, which date back to 2013 when Jenzen was a contractor, the company stated that it had verified Jenzen's work was fully paid according to their agreements. The thread also acknowledged accusations of repeated crunch time, admitting there is still room for improvement. It outlined efforts to minimize crunch, including the removal of previous management, new hires, and management training to develop better scheduling practices.
