Steam Deck Now Available for Immediate Purchase

The Steam Deck, Valve's handheld gaming system, can now be bought without any wait, marking a significant milestone one year after its initial announcement in July 2021. In the months leading up to this, the company had observed a reduction in pre-order wait times. The past year saw delays in both the system and its accessories, such as the docking station, due to component shortages and COVID-19 related manufacturing disruptions. While the Steam Deck is now available for purchase at any time, Valve has cautioned that its production, processing, and shipping capabilities are not infinite. If demand for a particular model exceeds the company's ability to deliver it promptly, delivery times will be extended, and once a certain threshold is reached, the system will revert to a reservation-based model until the backlog is cleared. Moreover, Valve has begun accepting pre-orders for the Steam Deck in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
