Technicolor Divests Gaming and Visual Effects Division

The VFX and gaming studios of Technicolor are being spun off into a separate company called Technicolor Creative Studios. As of this morning, the new entity has begun public trading on the Euronext Paris, while Technicolor will continue to trade on the same market under the name Vantiva, led by newly appointed CEO Luis Martinez-Amago. Technicolor Creative Studios encompasses VFX studios such as MPC, The Mill, and Mikros Animation, as well as game developer Technicolor Games. According to the announcement, Technicolor Creative Studios CEO Christian Roberton will be joined by an executive committee consisting of seasoned industry professionals, including studio presidents Tom Williams, Josh Mandel, Andrea Miloro, and Jeaneane Falkler. Additional executive committee members include Laurent Carozzi as CFO, Niki Steel as chief people officer, Mark Hardy as CMO, and Nathan Wappet as COO. With a global workforce of over 11,700 employees across 11 countries, the company is set to open a new campus in Los Angeles' Culver City next year, which will bring all studio brands under one roof. Jeaneane Falker, president of Technicolor Games, who was appointed to her role late last year, commented: "The spin-off of Technicolor Creative Studios comes at an exciting time for the gaming industry, allowing us to further invest in expanding Technicolor Games' presence, talent pool, and range of services. We are well-positioned to cater to the growing demand for content that bridges the gap between gaming, entertainment, and marketing, and look forward to collaborating with The Mill, MPC, and Mikros Animation to deliver this content.
