AimJunkies Fires Back at Bungie with Counterclaim

In the latest twist in an ongoing legal dispute, AimJunkies, a prominent cheat provider, has launched a counter lawsuit against Bungie, the studio behind Destiny 2. This development comes after Bungie initially filed a copyright infringement claim against AimJunkies last year, which was later dismissed due to insufficient evidence of copyright and trademark infringement. Following the dismissal, Bungie reinitiated the lawsuit, prompting AimJunkies to issue several subpoenas and request a dismissal, the latter of which was denied. Now, Phoenix Digital Group, the parent company of AimJunkies, has retaliated with its own lawsuit, accusing Bungie of unlawful activities. According to reports by TorrentFreak, the lawsuit claims that between 2019 and 2021, Bungie illegally accessed the personal laptop of James May, a manager at Phoenix Digital Group, thereby violating the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The counterclaim asserts that Bungie's actions, including the unauthorized access to Mr. May's computer and the downloading of files without his knowledge or consent, are in direct contravention of Destiny 2's Limited Software License Agreement and AimJunkies' terms of service.
