YouTuber Accidentally Reveals Himself as Source of Ubisoft Leaks

A prominent YouTuber has been unmasked as the individual behind a string of Ubisoft leaks after accidentally responding to a tweet from the wrong account. In the days leading up to Ubisoft's recent presentation, a Twitter user known as 'The Real Insider' leaked key details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed titles. The same account had previously been linked to leaks about other games, including the revamped Saints Row and Metal: Hellsinger. However, the owner's anonymity was compromised when Dan Allen replied to a tweet meant for 'The Real Insider' using his personal Twitter handle, @DanAllenGaming, as reported by Eurogamer. Allen had received advance information about the Assassin's Creed announcements from Ubisoft under the condition that he maintain confidentiality until the official reveal. Nevertheless, he breached this embargo by sharing the details anonymously through his 'The Real Insider' account. The incriminating tweet and the 'The Real Insider' account have since been deleted, along with Allen's @DanAllenGaming handle. Before deleting his account, Allen posted a public apology, expressing remorse for his actions and disappointment in himself. He stated, 'I am truly sorry to everyone for my actions. I am ashamed and disappointed in myself. I will be taking time to reflect on my poor decisions, which will never happen again. To everyone who has supported me over the years, I am truly sorry I let you down.'
