GI Academy's Free Online Discord Event Makes a Comeback Next Month

For those unable to attend our in-person event at EGX this week, or for those who can, students and job seekers are invited to join a special online event on Discord - free of charge - from October 26th to 28th, in collaboration with Creative Assembly, the developer of Total War. The event will feature industry professionals from prominent UK game developers, as well as notable figures, participating in roundtable discussions, offering guidance to students on entering the video game industry, reviewing portfolios, and sharing their expertise. Keynote announcements will be made the following week, joining a lineup of programmers, artists, producers, musicians, journalists, voice actors, and many more, providing three days of expert advice. Registration is free and can be done here. Our event partner, Creative Assembly, will provide numerous masterclasses and expert speakers throughout the three days. According to Emma Smith, Creative Assembly's Director of Talent and Social Impact, "This marks the third year of the GI Live: Academy Student Conference, which we have been the main sponsor for since its inception. We believe that providing free, global access to industry experts for students leads to a stronger, more creative, and diverse industry. Through this conference, we can reach a larger number of students, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds who typically do not have the opportunity to attend gaming conferences." During the event, attendees can watch keynote presentations, participate in live Q&A sessions, join intimate industry roundtables, and engage with gaming professionals one-on-one. Surprise guests will also make appearances throughout the show. To reserve your free tickets, click here. Games developers, publishers, and media interested in participating can email chris.dring@gamesindustry.biz.
