iOS 16 Update Disrupts Gameplay in Certain Music Games

The recent iOS 16 update from Apple has introduced a bug that affects the gameplay experience in several music and rhythm games on iPhone devices, as reported by multiple game developers. The issue arose after Apple released the latest software version, which inadvertently disrupted the functionality of a triple-tap gesture used in various rhythm games. Consequently, developers are cautioning players against updating their devices to iOS 16 until a patch is released to resolve the problem. The rhythm game Arcaea addressed the issue on its official Twitter account, stating, "We're aware of an issue with three-finger inputs on devices updated to iOS 16, and unfortunately, there's no workaround at present. We advise players not to update to iOS 16 until Apple provides a means to disable the feature." The problem stems from the conflict between the three-finger gesture used to access menus and perform undo/redo actions on Apple devices and the multi-tap functionality required in certain music and rhythm apps, such as playing the piano. This results in unintended actions being triggered on the screen. Notably, a similar issue occurred when Apple transitioned to iOS 13 in 2019 but was promptly addressed. However, the issue has resurfaced with the release of iOS 16, despite being highlighted during the beta period. As of now, Apple has yet to address and resolve the issue.
