Ruckus Games Secures $5.5 Million in Funding

Ruckus Games has successfully raised $5.5 million in seed funding, which will be utilized to drive the development of its debut cross-platform cooperative game. Established last year by a team of seasoned developers from Gearbox Software and Riot Games, the studio is headed by CEO and game director Paul Sage, who previously served as the creative director for Borderlands 3. Other key founders include CTO and technical director Jesse McIntyre, with a background in developing MMO titles such as Warhammer Online and The Elder Scrolls Online, and principal concept artist Paul Richards, who has contributed to the design of notable titles including Halo, Overwatch, and Fortnite. The funding round was spearheaded by Transcend, with additional investment from Bitkraft Ventures. "In creating Ruckus Games and our first title, we aimed to infuse the gaming mainstream with the innovative spirit often found in independent studios, providing our developers with a platform to make their mark on the industry they've helped shape," said Paul Sage in a statement. "When we get it right, players benefit from unique gaming experiences that are passion-driven and incredibly fun – what more could we ask for?"
