EA Establishes Ridgeline Games Studio
Electronic Arts has officially launched Ridgeline Games, a new development studio focused on enhancing the narrative aspects of the Battlefield series. Marcus Lehto, renowned for his work on Halo, will oversee the studio, bringing over 25 years of industry experience to the role. Throughout his career, Lehto has held various positions, including art director, creative director, and president. According to Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn and head of the Battlefield franchise, "The addition of Marcus and his team at Ridgeline Games to our global talent pool will further strengthen the franchise's position for success." EA emphasizes that Ridgeline Games will prioritize building a diverse team and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This development follows significant changes within EA after the release of Battlefield 2042, including Zampella's appointment as the head of the shooter series and the decision to have multiple studios work on separate Battlefield titles, marking a shift from the franchise's previous association with developer DICE.
