According to Eurogamer, this marks a milestone as the first animated streaming series to win in this category. Released on Netflix in November 2021, Arcane quickly rose to the top of the watch list in multiple countries. The production team expressed their gratitude, stating, "We are more than honored to have won the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program." They extended thanks to their team at Riot Games and Fortiche, the Television Academy, and the dedicated fanbase for making this achievement possible. A second season of Arcane is currently in production, as announced in November of the previous year.
