Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show has just unveiled the line‑up of exhibitors slated to appear at its 2026 edition, confirming the participation of industry heavyweights such as Capcom, Bandai Namco and The Pokémon Company, alongside representatives of Nintendo and PlayStation through their local partners. While Sony’s brand was noticeably absent from the physical floor – a contrast to the presence of both Nintendo and Xbox at last month’s event – a broad spectrum of other companies will be represented, ranging from indie studios like 4Divinity, Elementa, Gryphline and Kuro Games to technology giants such as Razer, AMD and Lenovo.
The show’s business area is set to become a truly global hub, featuring pavilions from 25 different countries and regions. Among the most prominent national showcases will be those from Austria, Germany, the Philippines, South Korea, Spain and the host nation, Thailand. Each pavilion will provide a dedicated space for local developers, publishers and service providers to display their latest projects, forge partnerships and attract investment. The expansion of the business zone reflects the organisers’ ambition to deepen cross‑border collaboration and to position Southeast Asia as a pivotal meeting point for the worldwide gaming ecosystem.
Beyond the exhibition floor, the event will host a series of pitch and reverse‑pitch contests designed to connect creators with financiers, distributors and platform owners. Xsolla, a leading payment and distribution platform for games, will sponsor the “Invest Circle and VIP XPerience,” a curated networking programme that gives developers, publishers and investors a chance to sit down face‑to‑face, exchange ideas and negotiate deals in a more intimate setting than the bustling main hall. A robust speaker schedule will run across four stages, featuring more than 70 presenters hailing from over 20 countries. The keynote address will be delivered by John Romero, co‑founder of Id Software, who will speak under the title “Why We Still Make Games.” In addition to delivering his insights on the enduring passion that drives game creation, Romero will be honoured with the event’s lifetime‑achievement award for his pioneering contributions to the medium.
Other confirmed speakers include Nick Herman and Dennis Lenart of AdHoc Studio, Zhen Fang – Vice President of Roblox and head of its international division, Jane Lau – head of production at Tencent, Emilio Coppola – executive director of the Godot Engine, and Yoan Fanise – creative director and founder of DigixArt. Their talks will cover a wide range of topics, from emerging business models and community‑driven development to technical innovations in open‑source engines and the creative processes behind award‑winning titles.
The 2026 edition is being co‑organised by Koelnmesse, Show No Limit and Online Station. Prakash Ramajillu, General Manager of Asia‑Pacific for Koelnmesse, emphasised the event’s growing international focus: “This year we are placing an even stronger emphasis on internationality. We are bringing leading global gaming brands to the entertainment area while expanding the business zone with more country pavilions, networking opportunities, and greater support for independent developers through the indie area and the Thailand Pavilion, backed by the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) and the Thai Game Software Industry Association (TGA).” Pongsuk Hiranprueck, CEO of Show No Limit, added perspective on the market’s evolution: “Last year’s success, with over 200,000 attendees, proves that Thailand is not merely a consumer market but a key driver of culture and the creative economy across Asia.” The statement underscores the strategic importance of Thailand not only as a destination for gamers but also as a fertile ground for studios, publishers and ancillary service providers.
The venue for the 2026 gathering will be the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, with the public exhibition running from 29 October to 1 November. The business area, however, will be open exclusively to industry professionals and media representatives on 29 and 30 October, allowing for focused B2B interactions before the doors open to the wider public.
To put the event’s scale into perspective, the inaugural Gamescom x Thailand Game Show attracted 206,159 visitors from 95 countries, while the business zone welcomed 5,590 professionals representing 81 nations over four days. Those figures illustrate the rapid growth of the show and its capacity to serve as a bridge between the Asian market and the broader global gaming community.
With an expanded exhibitor roster, a richer speaker lineup, and enhanced networking programmes, the 2026 edition promises to be the most internationally diverse and business‑focused Gamescom Asia experience to date.
