Virtuos Expands Presence with New Co-Development Studio in the Bay Area
Virtuos, a renowned creative services company, has launched Calypte, a state-of-the-art co-development studio situated in the Bay Area. This studio represents the company's first full-service facility in North America, offering an extensive range of art, design, and engineering services. Under the leadership of seasoned director Kirsten Kennedy, who boasts over two decades of experience in producing notable franchises like The Walking Dead, Sid Meier's Civilization, and Grand Theft Auto, the studio is poised for success. The Bay Area office will also serve as a hub for staff from other Virtuos studios. Kennedy expressed her enthusiasm for joining the Virtuos team, stating, "I'm thrilled to be a part of the Virtuos family and grateful for the trust placed in me to drive our growth in North America." She further emphasized the strategic importance of the Bay Area, citing its high concentration of gaming studios and diverse talent pool as ideal factors for the studio's expansion. This development follows Virtuos' recent establishment of a new office in Malaysia, aimed at providing opportunities for local developers, as well as its acquisitions of Glass Egg and Volmi Games in May and January, respectively.
