Sea Ltd. is also the parent company of Garena, a prominent Singapore-based game development and publishing studio, known for titles such as Garena Free Fire. According to sources close to the matter who spoke with Reuters, Booyah!, Garena's gaming livestream unit, and Sea's development team are expected to undergo staff layoffs. The restructuring at Booyah! is anticipated to result in the elimination of 30 to 40 positions, with its app being halted from further updates. A spokesperson for Sea Ltd. confirmed to Reuters that the company has implemented operational adjustments aimed at enhancing efficiency, which will impact a number of roles. The spokesperson further emphasized that the company's strategic focus will be on bolstering the long-term resilience of its ecosystem.
