Steam Removes Domina Following Developer's Anti-Trans Remarks

Warning: Transphobic content The management simulation game Domina has been removed from Steam after its developer, Dolphin Barn Interactive, used the platform to express anti-trans sentiments. A post on the game's Steam page announced a name change to Dominus, referring to Domina as its 'former name,' and included a paragraph that mocked the trans community by referencing the 'change' in the title and making derogatory comments about a Twitch streamer. The patch notes at the end of the post contained additional troubling anti-trans statements, including a point that read, 'stop misleading children about basic biology.' Although the game's Steam page now indicates that it is no longer available for purchase 'at the request of the publisher,' a message from Steam on the discussion page, shared via Resetera, confirmed that the game was removed by a Steam Support representative, citing the following reason: 'A recent announcement on the Domina community hub contains personal attacks,' the message stated. 'We also noticed that you have removed several reported posts in your hub that contained various rule breaches. As we made clear in our previous communication, any future violations of our rules and guidelines would put our business relationship at risk - therefore, we are ending our partnership with Dolphin Barn Incorporated and removing all associated products from sale.'
