Riot Games and Take This Introduce Mental Health Resources for Underrepresented Creators

Riot Games has collaborated with the non-profit organization Take This to launch a mental health support program tailored for players and content creators from marginalized backgrounds. The partnership, which began with a grant from Riot Games in May, has led to the development of a comprehensive program aimed at addressing the unique mental health needs of streamers and their communities. A series of educational modules, created by clinical experts Dr. Kelli Dunlap and Dr. Raffael Boccamazzo, will be released, with the first module focusing on burnout prevention in content creation already available on the Take This website. Additionally, the partnership will feature six panel discussions centered around mental health issues affecting Black, Latine, Indigenous, Trans, East Asian, and South and Southeast Asian communities, curated by Cassie Walker, a Black Queer trauma therapist and activist. The first panel discussion, highlighting the experiences of Black communities, is now available on YouTube. This initiative follows the launch of an online resource by the Games and Online Harassment Hotline, designed to help content creators protect themselves from hate raids. In a related effort, Take This' Dr. Raffael Boccamazzo shared insights on supporting neurodiversity in the workplace in an in-depth interview last year.
