Sony Reportedly Pursuing a Live-Action Adaptation of Days Gone

According to recent reports, Sony's PlayStation Productions is in the process of developing a live-action adaptation of the popular 2019 survival horror game Days Gone. Sheldon Turner, who has a notable portfolio including writing credits for X-Men: First Class and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, is reportedly on board to develop the project. Sam Heughan, known for his role in the Outlander series, is set to portray Deacon St. John, the main character of Days Gone. This development marks another addition to Sony's expanding slate of live-action adaptations based on its PlayStation intellectual properties. Earlier in May, it was announced that God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Gran Turismo are being adapted for television, as reported by VGC. Since 2020, Sony has been actively pursuing TV series and film adaptations for several of its PlayStation franchises, including Twisted Metal, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, and Jak and Daxter. The recent film adaptation of the Uncharted franchise also saw significant success, generating $44.1 million during its opening weekend in the US.
