Twitch Records 1.7 Billion Hours of Viewing in July
According to the latest State of the Stream report by StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg, Twitch maintained its viewership momentum in July, mirroring its performance from the previous month. The platform achieved 1.7 billion hours watched, although it has yet to surpass the 2 billion hours watched recorded in January. Facebook Gaming experienced a relatively stable viewership, with 424 million hours watched in July, slightly down from 425 million in June. In contrast, YouTube Gaming saw a modest increase, with 292 million hours viewed, up from 290 million the previous month. The most popular games on Twitch remained consistent, while YouTube saw a surge in viewership for Monster Hunter Rise and Fall Guys following significant content updates. This trend highlights the significance of updates in reinvigorating game popularity, as noted by StreamElements' chief business officer, Jason Krebs, who emphasized the potential of updates to revitalize partnerships and viewership.
