Little Orpheus Set to Launch Next Month After Delay Due to Ukraine Conflict
Following a delay earlier in the year, Little Orpheus has been assigned a new release date for its PC and console versions. According to publisher Secret Mode, the platformer is scheduled to hit PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, as well as Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 13. Originally intended for a March release, the game was postponed to avoid potential insensitivity surrounding Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Developed by The Chinese Room, this comedic title follows the adventures of a Soviet cosmonaut as he embarks on a perilous journey to the Earth's core, incorporating several references to Soviet Russia. In a statement addressing the delay, Secret Mode noted: "Although Little Orpheus doesn't directly address recent global events, we acknowledge that certain themes and content may be distressing for players at this time." Initially released on Apple Arcade in 2020, the revamped version of Little Orpheus has been remastered and optimized for larger screens, with additional content set to be included.
