Spider-Man Achieves Second-Largest PlayStation Launch on PC
The PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man has secured the second-largest launch for a PlayStation title to date. According to data observed by gaming analyst Benji-Sales, the game peaked at 66,436 concurrent players over the weekend, placing it behind God of War's 73,529 peak players during its launch in January. Horizon Zero Dawn ranks third with 56,557 concurrent users during its launch in August 2020, followed by Days Gone with 27,450 players during its release in May 2021. Although Spider-Man has not yet surpassed God of War in terms of peak players, its higher price point of $60 compared to God of War's $50 may result in higher revenue. Upcoming PlayStation titles scheduled for PC release in the second half of 2022 include Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. Recently, Sony reported a slight decline in gaming revenue for Q1 2022, attributed to decreased sales of first and third-party titles. However, Q2 saw the launch of Spider-Man on PC and the introduction of PlayStation's revamped subscription service.
